For patients south of the river, Perth Sleep Dentistry arranges tooth extractions and complex dental treatment under general anaesthetic or IV sedation at Waikiki Private Hospital, working alongside our anaesthetist Dr Murray Jacobs. Here’s what to expect, from admission through to finding your way there.
Waikiki Private Hospital offers key surgical and medical services to the Perth South Metro and Rockingham community. Alongside general and specialist surgery, the hospital supports oral and maxillofacial procedures, making it a convenient option for dental patients living south of the river.
When you have a tooth extraction or complex dental procedure through Perth Sleep Dentistry, your treatment is carried out as day surgery at Waikiki Private. You’ll be admitted and cared for by the hospital’s nursing team, with your procedure monitored throughout by our anaesthetist, Dr Murray Jacobs, before you recover and head home.
Waikiki Private Hospital will text you the day before your admission with your exact arrival time. As a general guide:
For day-only procedures under general anaesthetic or IV sedation, you’ll usually go home a couple of hours after your procedure, once you’ve recovered. A responsible adult needs to stay with you for the first 24 hours, and in that time you should not drive, drink alcohol, operate machinery, or sign any legal documents.
Waikiki Private Hospital is located at 221 Willmott Drive, Waikiki WA 6169.
There’s plenty of free parking directly in front of the hospital, with disabled parking bays near the main entrance and a covered pickup and drop-off area. The hospital is close to local shops and train stations, with a bus stop right out the front.
For more information, including current visiting hours and facilities, visit the Waikiki Private Hospital website, or call us on 08 6118 2616 to discuss your procedure.
